Every day new terms in the language of communication. And if we follow the digitally there is no way to escape all kinds of slang. What are transmedia Producers? What is transmedia? At MIPTV last much was discussed about what has long been referred to as a multi-platform producers, 360º producers: not just online, TV or mobile ... much more than that! It is an insight of communication that includes the properties of the narrative and the intended target ( Niche, long tail, you name it...). Preferably to have a domino of insights for the entire product chain: the original script, or script commissioned by brand (to the core of the marketing mix) to the various applications of the product in the various channels of communication. My humble opinion,

In fact, knowledge and things on TV seem incompatible.
In truth, I do not have much patience for television. I cannot spend hours jumping from one channel to another. At most, sit back and watch a movie and then goodbye! A paradox... I’m a TV professional…common mistake in this tribe of old professionals!
Surely, virtual world allows people to assume roles are quite different than in reality. But I find it all extremely interesting. There’s a huge difference between the user and viewer. Active vs laid back!

Is there space for both?

Much of the success of this type of social network, at least in my opinion, is the wave of grace that has plagued this world. People feel very alone in the dynamics of accumulation and how social interactions require a real effort and a great expenditure of energy, you end up going for the facilities of the internet!

In fact celebrities are like horses racing for the RGB carrot...Or should I say for the 1010 apple?!

I agree with you, people want to pretend to achieve a different goal than they really are looking.

If you are a true film fan, and can’t go by without 5.1 surround sound (you probably own a very expensive home cinema), you should get this also:

Just install it and the sound will travel to your 5.1 speakers through WLAN.

Finally, if you liked all the above solution but dont want to spend so much to have the complete experience, place your laptop near the flat screen and home cinema and buy on of these:

From Keysonic, one of the various 2 in 1 keyboard and touchpad systems, (cordless mouse don’t work well on the couch) and you will have no cables on the floor. The downside is you can’t have the laptop near you and extend the TV screen just to show content, and if you want to use the laptop while watching TV, you need to get up and pick it. Also, every time you leave home with the lap top, you need to unplug all cable and reconnect when come back home.

It would be simple just to have another computer just for this, but the goal is to save money and take maximum profit and extend usability of existing devices at home.

Here at dopamina360, both the team and project volume has grown extremely fast that we decided to search online for a web based application to serve as platform for our teamwork projects.

As a small creative thinking tank, the requirements we find necessary are the following:

Essentially this application suits any small work groups with employees working on numerous projects simultaneously.

After conducting research and trial running many softwares, we chose the open source solution Collabtive.

Installation instructions are very face forward. If your website host is able to give you access to cpanel, than the software is available to install in 5 minutes.

Here at dopamina360, our staff found the application user friendly, and nor did we face any major problems using it. The software satisfies all our requirements simply and efficiently. In addition, there were no unnecessary complicated features, as we had experienced in two other trial versions of commercial softwares.

The only negative feature we found is the user desktop menu disappears when you choose a project, instead of appearing as a submenu. This could potentially cause some confusion when the user opts to return back to the desktop menu.

The only custom adjustment that we have made to this software was to change the login menu image to make our logo appear. Maybe they will add this to the installation menu.

After our trial run of this web-based application, we here at dopamina360 rate it 7/10, making this a very good, much needed software.

New York vs Silicon Valley for tech startups

Antonio Garcia, a former Goldman Sachs number cruncher, decided to up and leave for the brighter sky on the West Coast, in order to found his startup company. After getting established, he wrote a little retrospective comparison of both places for tech startup companies, ending up practically humiliating New York in the process.

Living in New York, you hemorrhage money, and don’t see much in return. My career salary high-water mark is still working as a quant on Goldman’s credit desk, and I lived worse, from a quality-of-life perspective, than I did as a Berkeley graduate student. ‘Ramen’ money in New York is enough to support three families, and then some, elsewhere. If YCombinator existed in New York, they’d have to dish 5x more than their already slim initial funding to keep new startups in Cheetos for three months.

Basically, startups flourish in the Bay Area the same reason the homeless do: decent weather, relatively cheap living, and no stigma attached to your lifestyle.

At cocktail parties with these people, the “ambitious ass-kickers” Paul Graham thinks will save the New York tech scene, the second question you’re asked is inevitably what do you do? And so begins the not-so-subtle binning of you into your social echelon, more ritualistic and damning than any Japanese business card exchange ceremony:

+2 for working at Goldman Sachs
-1 for being a quant rather than a banker or trader
-1 for living on the Lower East Side
-2 for not being Ivy League
+/- 1 for being Gentile (depends on the cocktail party).

And you’re socially in the red at that point. The rest of the conversation is as vacuous as interstellar space.

No place for Trotsky to sit down

One of the biggest shocks upon moving to New York was realizing it had no cafés5. You can’t have startups or revolutionary political movements without cozy cafés to dawdle, work, and plot in. Every day I step into the Red Rock Café in Mountain View, I see 2-3 startup founders I know, see about half a dozen hackers working on something on their Macs, or overhear some entrepreneur’s pitch to an investor. Every day. Assuming you teleported all those people to New York tomorrow, the system would fall apart, as they’d have nowhere to meet.

Katz’s pastrami is the only thing I miss

As a random but illustrative tangent, the food culture in NY vs. SF explains much of the attitude toward work and money as well.

The reality is, the food culture in New York mostly sucks. Sure, people there know how to go to Nobu and drop $300 on sushi, and every headliner chef needs to have some New York outpost, but most New Yorkers couldn’t fry an egg if their lives depended on it (plus, most don’t even have decent-sized kitchens).

Although the baby wasn't heavily guard by 6-feet gorillas, the paparazzi couldn't quite get a clean shot in, but in our opinion here at Incubator HQ, they caught a glimpse at his future.

These pictures were taken a gas station in the Algarve, where Cristiano Jr. was accompanied by his grandmother Dolores Aveiro, her boyfriend and a hired nanny.

Cristiano Sr., however, was on his own schedule, arriving in the Algarve hours after his firstborn was seen on his way to Lisbon.

His feet already make him look like a striker ready for action! Could he be Portugal's next world-famous football star?

This year Travis McCoy, frontman of Gym Class Heroes united forces with MTV and became a Staying Alive ambassador. He traveled to South Africa, India and the Philippines to meet with and give needed exposure on the young people who are working hard to promote AIDS awareness. These young pioneers are the pushing force in their countries for the grass-root HIV and AIDS awareness projects, supported by MTV Staying Alive.

5 Easy Steps On How To Become An Excellent Short-term TV Presenter

Always live your day as a SALMON! Meaning there is no tomorrow, today is your last chance and in the end of the day you have to deliver some eggs or be serving or be served on a plate. It entirely depends on you. We suggest you also eat loads of salmon because it helps defy the aging process.
Go to Brazil to ALTER YOUR PHYSICAL APPEARANCE! Consider getting porcelain teeth, but if your real problem is hair loss than either spray it on or go for implants. Brazil has the best plastic surgeons and prices for liposuction and silicone implants (FYI men’s breast implants are a must) however, if you made it this far in presenting than you probably don't need to get man boobs.
Always make sure to have MORE FRAME TIME! In other words, make sure your face is in that box, screen, tube, telly more than your fellow presenters and guests. Here's a TIP: Always be the first in for hair and make up, which allows you to then be first on set, catch our drift... Also, make sure you have a chair with wheels, so that you can roll into shot at any point, therefore that secures your face on that screen every minute. During the Break, encourage your fellow host to drinks lots of water and keep refilling their cup this will gain their trust as you are doing such a kind gesture, but this also guarantees that they will be uncomfortable and wanting to pee during the entire taping which then causes them not to present well.
Always BLAME THE A.D! When your fellow presenter seems to be getting more screen time than you, show them who's the boss by nudging them under the table, tickling or pinching them, and steal their lines. Most importantly, make sure to tell them that the AD advised you to do so. Noone really checks with A.D about anything anyway....
Always FLIRT! We mean it, flirt with literally every single person in that studio. Don't be picky, everyone counts, forget your type, taste, or even gender preference, it's ALL or NOTHING. At the end of the day make sure to pass by the director’s office and offer to help them out with anything they need. Be Proactive! (and also always use this word as much as possible)!

Let us remind you, that these are the true experiences of a stupid small town DJ who went on to become a stupid successful international TV senior executive. So these things did really happen, and many presenters do REALLY go by these rules, and go on to be very successful!

Always wake up with MAKE UP! (men included). You never know when you are going to be posted on the web after a beautiful night of networking. Do it Venezuelan style "Always be prepared to be on a soup opera."

Get on a REALITY SHOW! Make sure to get the press's attention by declaring that you are on the show for the sake of your parents. OR that you suffer from agoraphobia, both reasons are juicy bait for the press. Always somehow get your parents on the reality show. Most importantly, ALWAYS SMILE and FLIRT with the producer. They will then be kind enough to advise you on which camera angle is best for you.

Get FRIENDS! Become friends with everyone and we literally mean every single person you meet. Believe in the LA talk!

Go to every CASTING you can until 2am. This is for those of you who go to casting and are the last call...don't fret because that's the best call time! From 2am onwards its time to start networking! When casting directors are wrapping up the casting, they always go for dinner, drinks or join in on group events and you want to make sure to be in on that!

Twitter literally exploded on the social networking scene in seconds, everyone who is anyone was on it twittering away. The explosion of twitter was much larger than facebook because celebrities and other influential people got involved and started interacting with the rest of us normal peeps....

CNN, NBC, BBC, MTV, and the list goes on and on and on oh and President Barack Obama even got twitter, they had twitter!

Everyone was discussing how great twitter is, and how it unites people, and allows you to reach people, sending important human rights issues...blah blah blah...yes its great, we agree...BUT when does it become TWITTER OVERLOAD?

MTV is partnering with Sony Pictures Entertainment and Sony Music Entertainment to exclusively premiere the official trailer from the highly anticipated film Michael Jackson's THIS IS IT during the "2009 Video Music Awards" on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at 9PM. The trailer debut will provide audiences their first look at the extraordinary new film which opens worldwide in theaters for a two-week limited engagement beginning October 28, 2009.

Michael Jackson's THIS IS IT will offer Jackson fans and music lovers worldwide a rare, behind-the-scenes look at the performer as he developed, created and rehearsed for his sold-out concerts that would have taken place beginning this summer in London's O2 Arena. Chronicling the months from April through June, 2009, the film is produced with the full support of the Estate of Michael Jackson and drawn from more than one hundred hours of behind-the-scenes footage, featuring Jackson rehearsing a number of his songs for the show. Audiences will be given a privileged and private look at Jackson as he has never been seen before. In raw and candid detail, Michael Jackson's THIS IS IT captures the singer, dancer, filmmaker, architect, creative genius and great artist at work as he creates and perfects his final show. Kenny Ortega, who was both Michael Jackson's creative partner and the director of the stage show is also directing the film, which is being produced by Randy Phillips, Kenny Ortega and Paul Gongaware. Executive producers are John Branca and John McClain. The film will be distributed worldwide by Sony Pictures Releasing. Tickets for the limited two-week engagement of the film go on sale beginning September 27.

Russell Brand shot to fame in the U.S. when he was featured as the rocker "Aldous Snow" in the Judd Apatow produced hit comedy, Forgetting Sarah Marshall. The film, which was written by and starred Jason Segel, grossed $63 million at the domestic box office. 2008 also saw Brand starring opposite Adam Sandler in the Disney film Bedtime Stories. It was in September of 2008 though that Brand cemented his fame in the U.S. as the host of the “2008 MTV Video Music Awards.”

It looks to us that its another way of brainwashing the American public to live in fear. It will just fuel the encouragement to become more racist and prejudice. The US has a new future, a new president, it is a time of change. People need to forget about Terrorists and living in fear.

This show is simply re-igniting issues that should not be brought up to the surface again.

In a July 1^st article in the The Hollywood Reporter, former U.S. intelligence official David Crane states: “‘The Wanted’ is about seeking justice for the many victims of terrorism and atrocity around the world.” He says the series will start “an important dialog about war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide, and international terrorism, as well as the indifference and political cynicism that hampers international criminal law and the quest for justice.”

We should not be opening dialog about international terrorism. Unfortunately the show will put more emphasis on terrorism than on other issues that need to have more light shed on them, for instance human trafficking.

The Booo Krooo started as an April fool in RWD magazine in 2002. RWD is considered the coolest urban music mag in the UK and (the staff) had noticed how major record labels seemed to sign up anyone they were featuring! To test the theory, they decided to create their own fake UK garage crew... us, The Booo Krooo. They got some members of staff together, photographed them and made up a story about the crew having a massive record, being banned from radio stations everywhere and being 'big in Japan' and ran it in the mag.

Everybody fell for it; they had absolutely hundreds of calls, several from very senior A&R people and talent agencies looking to sign the then non-existent Krooo!

They wanted to keep the idea going somehow as they had had such a good response, they had planned to start a cartoon strip in the mag for some time and had a rough concept which we turned into the 'Booo Krooo' cartoon characters.

When they launched their website RWDmag.com in June of that year, they turned the strip into an animation to help introduce and drive hits to the site. The response was overwhelming; we quickly became something of a cult thing amongst urban music lovers, with Missy Elliott even paying to be featured in episode 3! Once the Missy Elliott animation had been sent all over the world and back, offers of a TV series came in and you can now catch the Booo Krooos 6 part series on Channel U, Sky Digital channel 360.

We have now taken over and are going from strength to strength, Top producer Sticky (who discovered Ms Dynamite) has recorded the theme tune to the series, The Booo Krooo Theme and several high profile artists, brands, labels and TV channels are expressing a great deal of interest in both the Booo Krooo and RWD.

We have lost a legend, a man who brought happiness into our homes with his music. MJ was a universal musician who´s fame dominated the music scene all over the world. No matter where you travel in the world, MJ was critically acclaimed world-wide.

The death of MJ is our loss not his. He is in a better place where he can finally rest in peace. We the media need to take some kind of responsibility for his death and for his suffering while he still walked this earth. We taunted him with Wacko Jacko...we judged, criticized, and never gave him a chance to be set free.

Even after all the child molestation cases he was found Not guilty on All charges. We the media never set him free of this. This still haunted him and probably caused him emotional stress. At times emotional pain can be worse than physical pain.

Now MJ has united the world together, we are all able to put our differences aside and stand strong to mourn the death of a legend. MJ paid the price of fame and now we celebrate him world-wide. Even at an unfortunate time like this, we see some goodness...we see that we are all human at the end of it all.

Courteney Cox success came from 'Friends' which just launched her career to first gear. After that she starred as an editor for a trashy tabloid 'Dirt' - which by the way we thought was amazing! So when it was cancelled we were very surprised...

But maybe it was too close to the truth, that someone had to shut it down...we're just saying we smell something fishy...

Anyhow, we are just happy to see Courteney Cox back on our screens.

Check out these clips from her latest comedy 'Cougar Town' which premieres this fall on ABC. Courteney stars as a newly single mother of a 17 year old son.

Social networking is a way of keeping in touch, sharing new ideas, photos, expressing a way of life. It has most definitely impacted face to face social activities and sports amongst youth.

It's bad enough that kids and young adults don't go out to meet for a lunch, or a game of basketball, football, or go shopping together, but the fact that Facebook has now been proven to be one of the number one factors that grades are suffering in schools all across world...seems to be disturbing.

This generation opts to sit home and go shopping online, chat online, play video games, and so much more... than going out and actually having some human interaction.

These young adults are going to be socially impaired! They will not learn how to interact with people on a daily basis, to use their instinct, to make the right judgements about a person they meet...

BBC posted an interesting article stating that Facebook is actually affecting youths intelligence and education.

We have to care about what is going to happen to our future generation because they will be our future leaders, opinion makers, etc... so if they are all mindless, social networking obsessed humans, what will happen to our world....
